WHOS LOOKING OUT FOR YOU?

The photo on the top is a DEP certified well, the photo on the bottom is the well currently serving Ontelaunee Park.
Notice the lack of DUCT TAPE on the DEP certified well.
Back in April of 2008, Mel Charles stated in public meeting, concerns about the wells in Ontelaunee Park. Mel suggested since the wells where old and long neglected and knowledge she obtained from previous water studies in the park, the wells should be thoroughly tested.
That said, in June 2008 the park manager reported the water was tested and the test was good. Eck has reservations about that. Mr. Najarian then asked if the township was enrolled with DEP for well certification which he learned the township was not. Mr Najarian stated he felt the township should be enrolled for well certification. Najarian being the minority, the township never enrolled.
That brings us to September 2008, we now learn the well in Ontelaunee Park has high levels of coliform bacteria (despite having passed prior tests) for reasons we can not phantom. Supervisors now suggest the water supply be turned off till farther testing is completed.
To late for the 350 Northwestern Lehigh Alumni Association who recently occupied the park under Mr. Christ suggestion.
Until the well cap pictured on the bottom is replaced with a sealed/vent type cap, this well is subject to continuous contamination.
DEP requires wells used for public drinking/cooking to have a sealed/vent type cap. Reason being to eliminate possibility of insects and small mammals i.e. mice, moles, rats, from entering the well, defecating or falling into the water supply. Also these wells must be routinely tested and documented.
So ask yourself, Who's looking out for you?
Respectfully,
Eckville Press

BOIL ADVISORY FOR ONTELAUNEE PARK?
Eckville Press is advising local residents in the Northern Tier to please bring bottled water when visiting Ontelaunee Park. Apparently there is some confusion as to if the water is safe for human consumption. One claims the water was tested and the test was OK. Another claims impossible, a few years ago we pulled Jimmy Hoffa's corps out of that well. Eck don't know. Eck has some suspicions. A lay person would surely hope that in 2006, approximately when the park was open for business, a sufficient water testing program was established for our beloved park.
Surely the past water test results would be available, for public view, at the township office.
If not, our local elected officials should not be throwing stones at glass houses until they fix the cracks in their glass ceilings.

HOLY CRAP! SAY IT ISN'T TRUE
Is a new mysterious blog popping up in the Northern Tier? During a recent search performed for Lynn Township Blogs, Eck discovered the Lynn Township Sewer Blog. To date there are eight visitors and thirty two comments. Eck will not venture into this particular wasteland, for perhaps there, may lay a trap.
For those interested in blogging with the local operator, feel free.(Eck guess)
Ecks not sure of the dialog on said blog, some might debate VLR verses VIP, others maybe debating excessive engineering fees, or perhaps just a blog to find The Scoop On Poop.
For the time being, Eck will sit back and wait for the reviews.
